Special Limited Quantities Offer
Before I got any Transformers toys when I was a kid, I got a couple Go-Bots toys for my birthday. This was one of them. Clearly, a big inspiration for the Incredible Change-Bots.
Since I have some of the materials to make Incredible Change-Bots Fan Club membership cards left, I'm going to add 30 members to the Fan Club. So if you wanted to sign up but missed the original offer, this is your chance. As of right now, there's 10 spots left. Price remains the same, but there are a couple changes from the previous Fan Club membership listed in the back of the book:
- I'm out of the minicomic, so you won't get a minicomic with this. You will get the same membership card.
- Instead of the drawing of a Change-Bot of your choice, you'll get one of a 30 card trading card set. The set will feature a lot of different characters, so you can still request a particular one, but I can't guarantee you'll be able to get that one. The 30 card set will tell a short story, the way the Topps movie card sets for films like Star Wars did when I was growing up. The cards will be standard trading card size, with a full color drawing on the front.
If you'd like to join, email changebots at gmail dot com for the rest of the information.

AEIOU in French
Here's a preview of what AEIOU looks like in French, from the website digibidi.com (In France, comic books are known as 'bande dessinée', or 'BD' for short, hence, digital bande dessinée, or digibidi).

Free Comic Book Day!
Today is Free Comic Book Day, so you can go to your local comic shop and get some free comic books from almost every publisher (while supplies last, I'm sure). A lot of stores will also have events and signings... if you're in Chicago, I'll be at my local shop Darktower from noon until 3pm.

College Paintings

In "Funny Misshapen Body" there's lots of depictions of paintings I made in college and art school. This panel shows one of my favorites, which was sold and then given to my friend Brian. I think it was called 'Raketenflugplatz,' and was loosely based on n old World War II photo, I think. It was painted with acrylic on canvas.

And here's another one from Brian's collection, which I'd totally forgotten ever making.

Tack till Stockholm
A huge thank you to everyone that helped me out while I was in Sweden, especially Johannes Klenell, Mats Jonsson, and Fredrik Stromberg... there's a lot more to add to that list, but despite feeling much less jetlagged back home today than when I arrived over there, my brain is still a little mushy. If you'd like to see what my mushy brain looked like in Sweden, you can watch this interview I did the day I arrived.
I came home with a ton of great books, most of which I can't read. Fortunately Top Shelf will be putting out translations of several of these books next year, including Mats Jonsson's "Hey Princess" and Kolbeinn Karlsson's "Trollkungen". In the meantime, you'll already be able to read Niklas Asker's Second Thoughts in English.
