Your Move, Raincloud
I spent a few years working on album art for Your Move, Raincloud. Technically I worked on a lot of other things while working on this, but with the album finally coming out we had to stop coming up with new ideas. Here's a few of the many design sketches I drew up, along with a peak at the physical album package as it's being printed an assembled.

Save The Date for Save The Date
I just found out at San Diego Comic Con that Save The Date has a release date - November 16 will see a limited theatrical release for the film in New York and LA. It will also screen in Chicago and Austin after that, and IFC will have Video On Demand at some point too. Stay tuned to the Facebook page for updates. In the meantime, if you've got a record player you can listen to some of the music from the film on a 7" from The One AM Radio, which comes packaged with a booklet full of drawings from the movie as well.

An Interview With Musician David Bazan

Earlier this year I did an interview with former Pedro The Lion frontman David Bazan. I'm about the same age as Bazan, we both have young children, both make a living in the creative arts and we're both preacher's kids who are no longer Christian, so I thought it would be interesting to interview him. I talked to him on the phone and at a concert in Milwaukee, and turned the interview into a short comic that's printed in the new issue of Filter Magazine's Good Music Guide, available at Landmark Theaters, Diesel and Urban Outfitters. Or, you could just download the PDF here. In a way, it was really just a selfish way for me to think about how I want to write my next autobiographical book about religion and fatherhood...

Guitar Part Two
So yesterday I started pencilling out and planning the design on the guitar - basically it'll be of me listening to music, and then wrapping around the guitar in the background will be references to albums and bands I like, or have liked at some point, or are significant for some reason. I've got a list of just over a hundred, so we'll see how many I can fit on there.

Music Saves My Life Every Day
Last year at the Small Press Expo, the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund auctioned off a custom guitar decorated by Andy Runton. This year, I've been invited to do the same. After some internal debating and asking around, I decided to try and do something autobiographical... I'd had the idea of writing a story called 'Music Saves My Life EVeryday' a while ago, and I think I'm going to adapt that for my design. So here's step one, pulling the guitar body out of the box and taking a look...

Music and Comics
When "Little Things" came out, I wrote out a playlist at Largehearted Boy. Now there's a second playlist up for "Funny Misshapen Body", so you can see some of what I used to listen to back in high school and college. Missing from the list is the New Radicals, whose lone album was a source of comfort in those troubled adolescent times.
